I’ve been watching Jason Silva’s videos today, and this is probably my favourite so far - how cinema immerses us and dissipates our self-awareness.
Ian Somerhalder as the Phantom of the Opera ~ Requested by eldestsalvatore
…I read that as ‘Ian Smoulderholder’, which, personally, I think is rather fitting.
I re-watched Phantom of the Opera (2004 version) last week, and, it being a couple of years since I’d seen it, I did cry at the end (boohoohoo, feel sorry for the mass murderer because he’s FOREVER ALONE).
There’s always a debate on as to who the ‘best’ Phantom is. I enjoyed Gerard Butler’s portrayal of the Phantom in the 2004 film, as he was rather menacing, but they did make his disfigurement a little too minor. Charles Dance (1990 television movie) was more of a light-hearted Phantom, although he was not as threatening as other portrayals. I’ve yet to see any on-stage productions, but from videos, my goodness, those guys such as Ramin Karimloo can sing SUPER well. Need to go hunt for tickets now…
